Managing Director, Global Head of Financial Crime Operations and Fraud Monitoring

Elton Marchiolli Marques is the MD, Global Head of Financial Crime Operations & Fraud Monitoring at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), where he leads the bank’s Financial Crime Operations, Fraud Monitoring, Transaction Monitoring, Screening, Investigations and Financial Intelligence functions. With more than 25 years of international experience across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, Elton has held senior leadership positions at Barclays, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Allianz. Throughout his career, he has led large-scale financial crime, fraud, compliance, audit and regulatory transformation programmes, including the remediation of complex regulatory matters and the implementation of enterprise-wide risk management frameworks. Elton is widely recognised for his expertise in AML, sanctions, fraud risk management, anti-bribery and corruption, financial crime investigations, and the application of data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to strengthen financial crime controls and improve operational effectiveness. He holds an LL.M. in Financial Services Law from the University of London and is certified by CAMS and ICA
